Windows 10: Pinned and Recent Folder Links In Taskbar Not Working After Upgrading To Windows 11

Hi, I recently upgraded my wo=indows 10 to 11 and ever since then, the task bar links dont work. Especially the ones in the Recent section in the file explorer.If I right click on the Folder in the taskbar and select a lonk, ie Desktop, Downloads, Pircures for instance. The links dont open. This is true of the Pinned Shortcut Links and the Recent folders I have used.Any ideas how to solve this? My system is up to date.Thanks

File Explorer in Win 10 taskbar not showing Recent folders

When I right-click Word or Excel in my Windows 10 taskbar, a list of recent folders appears. But when I right-click File Explorer, only Pinned and Frequent folders appear. Neither of these is as useful to me as the Recent folders. Any suggestions on how
I can get Recent folders to appear?

Windows 11 - Pin folders to taskbar / system tray

I've recently upgraded to Windows from 10 to 11.

With Windows 10 I had a couple of folders pinned to my taskbar, on the right hand next to the system tray. However in Windows 11 this doesn't seem to be possible. Is there a way to do this? Am I missing something, or this feature missing from Windows 11.

It's a pain as I now have to open the file explorer each time I need access to these folders, which is very often.

 

Windows 11 - Files not appearing as recent on apps pinned to the taskbar

Hi All,

I'm newly running Windows 11.

When I right-click on a pinned app (word, excel etc), I cannot see the list of recent files in order to pin them.

I have toggled the on-off option in Settings>Personalisation>Start>"Show recently opened items in Start, Jump List and Files Explorer" and rebooted the computer.

After undertaking that fix, I managed to open one excel spreadsheet and was able to right click the app on the taskbar and see the file listed there in recent documents and pinned it.

However, when I attempted to do this for a second spreadsheet, after right-clicking on the app icon, I was unable to see any other recent documents, and only could see the newly pinned file.

Any help? I don't want to be needing to reboot the computer every time I wish to pin another file... is this a glitch?
