Windows 10: Pixel 8 USB File Transfer Unavailable

I've tried all the solutions i can find, nothing works.I purchased a new cable today, even though i knew that wasn't the problem, still doesn't work.If i plug in a work mate's Samsung, it's recognized straight away, but i just can't get access to my Pixel 8 Pro.

Cable to transfer files

OMG. I have never met anyone who actually bought one of those file transfer things.



Firewire will do the same as USB, but faster, so will a cheap crossover cable. I can wlak you through the steps of moving data so you will not miss a beat.




Anything more than $10 to buy a cable is too much.

 

USB Transfer to Laptop

Hello Judy,

I suggest you to copy all the files to a flash drive from the laptop.
You may create a new folder on your desktop and name that folder as per your choice.

  Perform the steps to transfer the files from laptop to desktop.
  
• 
  Plug in the flash drive and wait for it to get detected.
  
• 
  Now, open the flash drive and Right Click on the files that you want to transfer and select “Copy”.
  
• 
  Now, open the folder on desktop and Right Click on an empty space in the folder and select “Paste”.
  
• 
  Similarly, you can transfer all other files.
  

As per the file size you can also use an external drive instead of a flash drive and transfer the data.

File transfer

Here are a few methods:

• Use a USB stick as a carrier medium, as suggested by Marc.
• Link the two machines with a CAT5 cross-over cable
• Connect the two machines to the same wireless network

The second and the third method require some skills in configuring network.
