    Placing A Shortcut To A Web Page On Desktop ?


    Hello,

    I have opened up a simple web page that I would like to save a Shortcut (or other Link to) so I can
    get to it very easily directly from my Desktop.

    The little icon to the left of the address seems to be a "lock", and I can't drag it anywhere.

    Adding shortcut to desktop from web page

    Hi,

    Please let us know, which browser are you using to do so?

    Follow the steps below to create shortcuts of websites on the Desktop:

    • When you are viewing a website, right click on the web page and select the Create Shortcut option. The shortcut will be placed on the Desktop.
    • You can also right click the Desktop and select New/Shortcut. In the Location Box, paste the URL to the website.
    • Click Next and Name the shortcut and Click Finish.
    • You can also drag the Icon at the left end of the Address Bar and drop it on the Desktop, when viewing a website to create a shortcut.

    The advantage of having a web page or website shortcuts on the desktop is that you'll be able to launch your favorite web pages with a click without opening the browser. To assist you with putting a shortcut on your desktop, you may refer to the steps below:

    • Open your favorite browser and open the website that you would like to add on your desktop shortcut.
    • Once the page is loaded, copy the URL of the website or web page.
    • Right-click on the empty area of the desktop to see the context menu, click on New and then, click Shortcut to open Create Shortcut wizard.
    • In the "Type the location of the item field, paste the URL that you copied. Click "Next" to continue.
    • Type a name for the shortcut that you’re going to create on the desktop and then, click "Finish".
