Windows 10: Planned Install - No Motherboard Disc

Hello,

I have a spare ten-capable machine whose HDD crashed. Now repaired and I ought to put Windows 10 Home on it.

The problem is I inherited the machine without a motherboard or Windows 7 disc.

If I buy a Windows 10 licence will I be able to install it without the help of the motherboard disc ? It seems to me that I won't be able to go online during or perhaps after the install as the machine won't have the LAN drivers installed. Or will the installation process detect the motherboard and install the correct drivers?

Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type in Power Settings.
• On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
• Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.
