  1. Planning to Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver

I'm planning to try reinstalling my wi-fi driver to see whether that fixes some Internet problems I'm having, but I need some questions answered first. I downloaded "WLAN Driver (Atheros, Realtek, Broadcom, Intel) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook" from Lenovo, but some of their drivers refuse to install on my Lenovo G50-70 w/W10 even though the download page specifically says that the driver is for Lenovo G50-70s w/W10.

    • When reinstalling the wi-fi driver, is it necessary to uninstall the driver inside Device Manager beforehand?
    • If I uninstall the driver inside Device Manager and the downloaded driver won't install, will restarting Windows restore the default driver like it does with the audio drivers, and will going back to a restore point restore the driver?
    • Is there anything else I need to know?

    :)

    Planning to Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver

I would try a "refresh" first before attempting to install a new driver. Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the Wi-Fi and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NO uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the Wi-Fi. This fixes a lot of flakey problems.

  6. I just tried connecting to the router via the ethernet cable, and the same issue happened. Since there doesn't seem to be a separate ethernet driver, would that be the same as the Wi-Fi driver?
