Windows 10: Play old CD with photos set to music

I am trying to figure out how to play an old CD that has photos set to music. I have a disc drive and DVDs will play, but not this CD.

Playing Music CD's

I find that my Toshiba Satellite Pro will not play shop brought CD's or ones that I have burnt myself. It also won't play slideshows that I have made from my photo's. It can see that there are files there but does not seem to recognise then to play, copy
to the music folder or burn. It will however open photo's that I have put on a CD. I upgraded to Windows 10 some months ago but can't remember if I tried opening these files when I was using 8.1. Any suggestions please.

 

Stop music cd from starting to play immediately on loading

A simple question, I guess.

When I insert a music CD into my built-in CD-ROM the bl.....dy music starts playing right away. It's getting on my nerves because what I actually want to see is an Explorer type of page listing the individual files. I know there must be a setting somewhere but I simply can't find it. Old age?

Thanks in advance for any help stopping this annoying behaviour.

• Since when are you facing this issue?
• Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?
• Are you able to play music files which are stored in the computer?
• Did you try copying the music files from CD to computer to check if you are able to play the files in that way?
