Windows 10: PlayStation 3 DualShock 3 Controller Inputs Aren't Detected

Hello!I was trying to play Minecraft Java Edition with the Re-Console modpack installed. I plugged in my PlayStation 3 controller into my PC and noticed that it was detected by Windows, but no inputs were working. I know it's not that the controller doesn't have XInput support, as Re-Console works with any DInput controller and clearly detected the controller as it changed the button icons. When I went into the USB Game Controllers menu to check if the controller was working, I noticed that it too wouldn't detect any inputs.Is there any way to solve my problem? Sony Confirms DualShock 3 PS3 Controller

During its press conference at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that it will replace the Sixaxis PlayStation 3 controller with the DualShock 3 Wireless Controller, a new controller for PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) incorporating a rumble feature. The controller will debut in Japan this November as a separately sold accessory, with a Spring 2008 target for US and European market. Some of the games listed as compatible with the rumble feature are BIOHAZARD 5, Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid Online, and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Other PS3 titles that are already in the market may become compatible with the rumble feature through software update.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble syncing your wireless BUZZ PlayStation 3 controllers. Here are the steps to sync them with your PS3:



1. Insert the wireless dongle into one of the USB ports on your PS3.

2. Turn on your PS3 and your BUZZ controllers.

3. Press and hold the sync button on the wireless dongle for a few seconds until the LED light starts flashing.

4. Press and hold the sync button on the BUZZ controller until the LED light on the controller starts flashing.

5. Wait for a few seconds until the LED light on the controller stops flashing and stays on.



If the above steps don't work, you can try resetting the controllers by pressing the reset button on the back of the controller with a small pin or paperclip. Then, repeat the syncing process.



Please note that the BUZZ controllers are designed to work with the BUZZ games and may not be compatible with other games or software.

Also, Microsoft does not provide support for PlayStation products, so I recommend reaching out to PlayStation customer support for further assistance.

Is the Playstation 3 Controller driver for Windows 10 non-functioning by design?

Three possible reasons:

• The driver is generic (it was never intended for Playstation controllers) but it was the "best match" the system could find.
  
• The driver is not specific to the device (it was intended for Playstation controllers, just not that particular make/revision) but it was the "best match" the system could find.
  
• The driver was intended specifically for Playstation 3 controllers but requires additional underlying software the driver manufacturer chose not to include (e.g. because of licensing).
  

For what it's worth, the Sony Playstation 3's CellOS and MacOS both make use of parts of a similar code base (they both include elements of BSD derivatives), so it isn't too suprising that the controller works easily with MacOS. On the other hand, Windows has a completely different subsystem for connecting devices.
