The title says it all . I have a 10+ year old copy of windows 7 that I bought new on newegg .I still have the product key , its never been transferred to different hardware other than a Motherboard replacement same chipset as old MB back in 2018 . At that time win7 wanted activation with new MB which worked fine . Today I reassembled exact same hardware with same exact win7 product key .It says "security error " . THIS IS FLAT OUT **** !I can prove original owner and know FOR A FACT the product key has never been activated on anything other than AMD Fx cpu with 990 chipset MB , never ! I'

Product Key not on Order Page

I ordered an upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro recently. The upgrade occurred automagically, but I now have no product key. I spent some time and went to my account, finding the order and selecting it. Microsoft support under "Product Key" says to

Go to Order history, find ,
and then select Product key/Install

I looked at the order summary and detail on Order History. There was no Product Key. Much appreciate some help.

Order History missing the Product key/Install option

I ordered 2 copies of the Windows 10 Home (download) edition from Microsoft's website and I understand Microsoft does not have any record of the product keys, nor do they offer refunds on that type of order.

The instructions given by Microsoft to retrieve those keys is:

1. Go to Order History, find Windows 10, and then select Product key/Install.
   
2. Select Copy to copy the key, and then select Install.
   
3. Select Download tool now, and follow the instructions.
   
4. A wizard will help you through the steps to install. You can install Windows 10 on a PC or a Mac.
   

The problem is that the order in question does not have a Product key/Install option. Is this a bug with Microsoft's website?

 

Damaged Product Key on the Label

Hi,

I accidentally damaged product key on the label while I was trying to scratch off it. The product key became unreadable and is never used for activation. It is a system builder OEM Windows 10 Pro 64 bit license purchased in channel.

I wonder if Microsoft can replace it or recover the Product Key? If so, what’s the procedure?
