Windows 10: PLEASE !! disable "tap-click" on my trackpad.

Vendor told me new Windows specifications now disable the ability to turn off "tap to click" on a Synaptics (or any other) trackpad. No doubt to make my very expensive notebook work even more like my cheap phone.


however I travel a lot and "tap-click" makes it nearly impossible to do productive work on a plane or commuter train. Constant jostling / bumps and I'm accidentaly opening apps, dragging-dropping into oblivion, scrolling up/down, etc.


I am getting less and less productive with every release of Windows .. so PLEASE as one software developer to another, could MS please allow tap-click to be turned off? Or do I really need to throw out Windows entirely and go to Apple (yuch)?

Whenever I type, the edge of my thumb tends to touch the trackpad on my laptop, causing the mouse to click or drag, which can end up with me suddenly typing in the wrong place. I often end up having to disable the trackpad entirely, which is annoying if
I don't have a mouse nearby. I don't ever use the tap-to-click function; if I want to click something with my trackpad, I press it down.

I already looked up some suggestions to disable tap-to-click online, but none of them seem to work. Is there any way to disable tap-to-click, and if so, how?

Disabling Tapping on Windows 10

We would like to verify if you's still unable to disable the Tapping of your Lenovo Miix 310?

The steps that were suggested above by Yashwanth Kotakuri is helpful. That is the actual way to disable the
Tapping function of your laptop. Since you mentioned that you do not have the "Tapping" settings, then there must another thing that we need to do.

It is important to let us know the reason why do you want disable the "Tapping" function.
