Please enable long-path for system Explorer.exe missing longPathAware entry in the manifest

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-enable-long-file-paths-on-file-explorer/8b519805-d0c4-4c1e-971c-b62ef05cc8b2Our engineers complained the issue, and I found the above article complaining the same thing. Even the registry and gpedit have been updated, the built-in Zipper in Explorer is not working. Then I found the Explorer.exe's manifest does not have the longPathAware entry, so it does not respect system settings. Please make it work, thanks a lot! :-

    :)

W10 Testing New Long Path Extension Tips?

Hi, your screenshot is not there, unfortunately.
To add a screenshot, please use Insert Image - the icon to the left of the video icon above your post

This has been discussed before: There are several threads - e.g.
Long directory / file name support PLEASE Ms in a Windows update - Windows 10 Forums
    Tutorial here:
Enable or Disable Win32 Long Paths in Windows 10 Windows 10 Customization Tutorials

Note the requirement in Option 1 Step 6 picture of the GPO.

Whilst the last conclusion reached was it didn't seem to work, with the way MS changes things, and in particular the newish Creator's build, an update would be interesting. (I have the AU).

Long Directory + File names > 256 chars --any sign of support yet

Think I have one reason it won't work, from Enable or Disable Win32 Long Paths in Windows 10 Customization Tutorials

On further digging around it appears that Microsoft have typically not got round to adding it to File Explorer.

Windows 10 ver 1607: File Explorer long paths not working?

I've asked Microsoft employee Gov Maharaj and the feature is not ready to be enabled for Windows Explorer. So you still have the issue with Explorer. You have to wait until Microsoft enables it for Explorer or use a 3rd party file management tool which is compatible with the long paths and has the setting

    set in its manifest file.
