Windows 10: Please help, bad bass production on my new PC.

Hey! So I got a new desktop PC about 3 weeks ago and the first thing I noticed upon plugging my headphones into the headphone jack and listening to music was that it just sounded empty. Yes, there is clearly bass production coming from the headphones but it's not bass and it's just really sound. I'm not sure if that makes any sense. I make beats and such on my pc and whenever I listen to them on my phone, the lower frequency sounds like bass and kicks are wayyyy too loud. It's because there's not nearly enough bass coming through my headphones on my pc for some reason, therefor making it harder to mix and level the sounds to one another. There's nothing wrong with the headphones, they work perfectly on my phone and old hand-me-down laptop with amazing bass. I've tried to disable audio enhancements but there's no option to do that. I've tried to reinstall realtek but to no avail. Totally at a loss here. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (Realtek) - No bass/sub-woofer

• Speaker Setup plays all speakers fine
• Applications do not play any bass through subwoofer (or really, at all)
• Custom built PC using Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard onboard audio.
• Windows 10 fresh install
• Tried latest driver from Gigabyte, Realtek, and Microsoft
• Windows "default" driver does play bass through sub-woofer, but audio stutters and is quiet.

Not sure what else is relevant to mention; I've tried following various posts with suggestions to fix this, with no success. I've been at this for quite a few hours and am very frustrated.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or suggestions on how to resolve

 

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

No bass in surround


Okay I will mark this as solved as I have fixed my issue. Here is what I did:

• After trying all the common suggestions about drivers and such, I had no luck
• On a whim, I bought a sound card and hooked it up via the optical cable.
• I also changed the speaker settings on my receiver from Large to Small.
• I removed all sound drivers other than those for my sound card (Soundblaster ZX)

I now have bass in surorund sound. I also have it set to 5.1 in Windows and have checked all speakers with a surround sound audio file I downloaded.

My guess is that the driver coming off of the Nvidia card is only in 2.1 and it just can't decode/send the right sounds to the receiver over HDMI.

At any rate, hopefully this will help someone else.
