Windows 10: Please Help: Get error 0x80070002 when trying to turn on/install .NET 3.5 in Windows 10...

I just updated to W10 April 2018 from the previous version on now the application that requires .net 3.5 says it needs to be installed. Everything was working fine before the update.


During the upgrade it appears that the .net 3.5 feature was turned off. When I tried turning it on, it tries to install and I get error 0x80070002. I have tried turning off the antivirus during the attempted installation. I ran sfc/scannow and everything was normal. Thanks for the help.

I'm trying to install this for the Hearts of Iron 3 launcher, and the Fall from Heaven mod for Civ4, among other things in the future. Every time I try, I get that error code. I'm running Windows 10.

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the
.NET Framework 3.5. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Programs and features, click on
  Turn Windows features on or off on the left pane.
  
• 
  Click on .NET Framework 3.5 on the Window pop up to expand.
  
• 
  Uncheck the box and check on Ok.
  
• To re-install it back check on the box and click on OK.

Also, I suggest you to install all the Windows update.
