    please help how i can decrypt my files locked with BitLocker


    Hello there! I am a PhD student working a lot on my dissertation. However, awfully all my files were encrypted with Bitlocker once in the past. Later on, my computer was formatted without securing the Bittlocker passwords and the decrypting key. How can I regain my files back? Please help me "how?".....I suffered a lot!

    Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

    @rinconmike For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'. Another option is to use software.

    Hi,

    Device encryption helps protect your data by encrypting ("scrambling") it. Only someone with the right encryption key (like a password) can decrypt ("unscramble") it.
    • Sign in to Windows with an administrator account.
    • Go to Start, enter encryption, and select
      Change device encryption settings       from the list of results.
    • Select Manage BitLocker, select Turn on BitLocker, and then follow the instructions.

    Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

    As a BitLocker user myself, I can definitively say it has zero issues with SSD's. Nor has Microsoft listed any SSD drive issues. Also be aware BitLocker decryption is not an instantaneous process and can take anywhere between 20 minutes to a few hours depending on data and size of drive. That said, drive decryption does not prevent normal use of drive.
