should i be defragging or opptimizing my ssd or sd card by default its set to weekly and i just noticed the other day. my card seems to transfer files super slow. all i find online say not to defrag or opptimize ssd or sd cards but i can only remove my sd card opption if i take off both it wont let me apply it. i have to select one drive to automatically optimize ? i need help with this please i have a 2 tb sandisk extreme sd card that cost more then a 2 tb 2242 ssd i got it for my legion go but for some reason all of a suddon it seems to wright super slow idk if it is cooked or if it jist hap

For us to further isolate the issue, we suggest that you follow the steps below and check if it helps:

Method 1: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

• Tap on Windows Key.
• Click on Search bar.
• Type Troubleshooting and click on Troubleshooting.
• Click on View All and select Hardware
  and Devices.
• Click on Next and follow the instructions.

Method 2: Check the status of the driver in Device Manager.

• Tap on Windows Key + R.
• Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
• Search for the SD driver in the list.
• Search for SD host adapters. If it is present, right-click on it.
• Click on Properties and check the status of the driver.
• Right-click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

SD card/SD card reader no longer working

Hi. New to this so not sure of category.
I have a Lenovo G70. Windows 10, 64bit
My SD card reader has stopped working.
In Device Manager, the SD card is not listed.
I can't format the card as it is not listed.
I cannot locate the card at all as it is not listed anywhere.
I've tried chkdsk and get 'Cannot open volume for direct access'
I don't even have the icon displaying when micro SD card is inserted.
It did work previously but I had errors. Scanning and fixing did not help.
I place the SD card in my Android phone and it works fine.
Please help!

There are many possible reasons why this issue is happening. To help resolve your concern, we'd like to ask the following questions below:

• Are you using an SD card reader? If yes, have you tried using another card reader?
  
• Have you tried formatting the SD card using another computer?
  

In the meantime, we suggest running a hardware diagnostics while your SD card is connected to the computer and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Open Control Panel.
  
• Type Troubleshooting in the search box, then select
  Troubleshooting from the search result.
  
• Click Hardware and Sound.
  
• Select Hardware and Devices to run a hardware diagnostics.
