    i have been going nuts trying to fix this.my laptop speaker has not worked and I have tried all the following steps:reinstall audio drive update to the latest audio driverrollback audio drivertested different sound formatschecked to see if realtek r is set to default checked to see if realtek r sound was enabledchecked to see if the sound was mutedtroubleshootingturning off audio enhancements restarting.this has been a small problem, from time to time the speakers might work, but a lot of the time it doesn't. when I try to play a game or watch a youtube video, there is no sound, yet the speake

    Problems with Realtek drivers and New build

    So it looks like your updated driver install worked to get the Realtek (R) Audio listed in device manager, but i'm still having the same problem. It seems like the Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio) listed in the Audio inputs and outputs is for both my speakers plugged into the back, and the headphones in the front. Where with my previous PC i believe i had a separate headphones listed in that area i could switch to.

    Speakers (3- Realtek(R) Audio)

    I was installing new AMD display software. I had to run the installation three times.

    Now when I click on the speaker icon it says "Speakers (3- Realtek(R) Audio)". Where did that number 3 come from? I do not have 3 speakers.

    The second time I ran the installation it said 2. Now on this third time it says 3. How can I fix what has happened

    Headphones recognized as Speakers...

    Hi Ahri,

    Having your headphones recognized as speaker when plugged in at the back of your PC could be the reason why the audio is low. To help us isolate the problem, we suggest running first the audio troubleshooter from the link Fix
    sound problems    .

    In case the issue persists, then let's remap or retask your Realtek audio jack and see if it addresses the issue. To do that, follow the steps below:

    • Open the Realtek HD Audio Manager.
    • In the back panel, right click the option where your headphone is connected.
    • Choose the option Connector Retasking, then select Headphone.
