Windows 10: Please help... VS 2019 Offline FAILS

First of all, I am posted here...


I apologize that post to here and called it "Windows".... I can't post to the support forum for Visual Studio... because you can ONLY submit a support request THROUGH THE VISUAL STUDIO IDE, AND IT WON'T INSTALL. A MAJOR incompetent design...


Using this page, I downloaded the components I wanted:

Specially these:

--add Microsoft.VisualStudio.Workload.NativeDesktop --add Microsoft.VisualStudio.Workload.ManagedDesktop


Then when I run the installer, it automatically has those two checked. When I tell it to start, it says there are "packages missing from the layout" or something... you can't Copy/Paste from that popup... another INCOMPETENT feature


My offline command is

"vs_Professional.exe --noweb --add Microsoft.VisualStudio.Workload.NativeDesktop --add Microsoft.VisualStudio.Workload.ManagedDesktop --includeRecommended"


Of course the web page instruction doesn't explain ANY of the command line arguments.


Where do I get help for this? This is a PAID MSDN subscription, and we are obviously dealing with a company that wants to make it as difficult as possible to get any support...

Office 2019

Only supported on Win10. Sorry, 8.1 users, only 4 years old, gotta go.

• Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
• Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
  • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
  • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
• The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

 

RetailDemo Offline Content?


Was cleaning up my 10162 install using cleanmgr. One option on the list was "RetailDemo Offline Content", it was 100MB. Not sure what this is, before I delete it. Suggestions?
