    Please Help! Windows 10 stuck restarting for 11+ hours after setting switch!


    While attempting to get VMWare working on my machine, I came across a setting known as Core Isolation. The recommendation was to turn off Core Isolation. Not paying much attention, I clicked the toggle switch, not realizing I already had it turned off. Thanks to Microsoft's ingenious design, I could not undo that setting. I had to restart to apply the change, only to turn it off and restart again. Well, here we are about 11 hours later, my computer is still booting. I have the Republic of Gamers loading screen, no sign of life from my keyboard or mouse, and my ASUS motherboard is reading code A0 which means "IDE initialization is started". Is there any course of action here other than just powering off my machine? I should note that my Desktop is in good condition and spec'd pretty high, so this type of waiting should not ever occur.

    Edit: To clarify- my computer is currently stuck restarting after enabling Core Isolation. I have not yet made it through to windows, where I plan to disable this setting and restart once again.



    Update: Numerous people told me to hard-restart. I went ahead and did it. Works good as new. I was concerned of possible corruption, but thankfully it all worked out.

    Windows 10 install stuck at Restarting for over an hour.

    I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series. I set up the computer and was given the option to update to Windows 10. Everything updated and my computer has been stuck on Restarting for over an hour. What should I do?

    Quiet Hours are times of day when you don't want to be disturbed by notifications. How to set them up:


    • 1. Click the Action Center icon on the taskbar.
    • 2. Click Quiet hours.
      3. Set your Quiet Hours.
    The last (3) seems to suggest there is a setting - but as you - and others- have observed it seems to be just an on/off button now.

    E.g.
    Windows 10: No scheduled Quiet Hours? - Windows Central Forums
    I've not seen Quiet hours on, so can't comment on your other query, sorry.
