Windows 10: "Please insert a disk drive in Disk Drive D:"

Hello!A friend of mine was moving some files into a USB flash drive and, after the operation was completed he used the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media to check if it was safe to remove the drive. After he confirmed that it was safe to do so he removed the drive just to receive a message right after telling him that the drive was still in use by a program, so he reconnected the drive again, and since then the drive is indicated by a greyed out icon and it became completely unusable, giving a 'Please insert a disk into Disk Drive D:'. We tried different ports, uninstalling and

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:.

"I've already looked up how to fix this"

Is this a new development ? Have you done a Windows version update or made other changes around

the time the problem started ?

- To avoid having to read suggestions for fixes you have already tried list every fix you have tried.

Include the name of the games that show the error as well.

I rather doubt you need to use a 3d party partition manager for this sort of problem. Windows disk

management should be adequate. To start list which drive letters you are using on what type of

drives eg- DVD/CD, SSD/HDD, and if you are using external drives connected via USB or e-SATA ports.
