Windows 10: Please insert a disk into XXXX issue Windows 10

Hello All,

I am having a very weird issue on windows 10 where I insert my USB and windows detects it but cannot read it. The weird thing is the USB works fine on another windows 10 laptop(WIN10PRO), windows 10 desktop(WIN10PRO) and macbookpro that I have test it on. I am unsure on what to do, I have reformatted the USB and still does not work on this one particular Lenovo X1(WIN10BUS).

32.0 GB RAM - Windows 10 Business - Version 20H2 - OS build 19042.746

windows can see the USB but not read it.

I get the insert a disk message repeatedly in Windows 10

Hi,

You may follow the steps provided below and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to insert the disk into the drive and go to disk Management, then there change the drive letter to the DVD/CD drive.

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Disk Management.
  
• 
  Click on Change the driver latter and path.
  

If the issue persist, go to device Manager, then right click on the DVD/CD driver and click uninstall the driver and restart pc, then PC will install the driver automatically which will remove this error.

• Press Windows key + X.
• Select Device manager.
• click on DVD/CD Rom driver.
• Right click on the DVD/CD rom driver and select driver tab.
• Click on uninstall.
