Windows 10: Please, Microsoft, fix the network detection problems.

Hello,

I am running Win10 64 bit version 1909 on a laptop and on a PC, on both machines, network discovery and file sharing is turned on, both machines can see one another and I can share files between them, however.....


I have two Buffalo NAS stations, both with the latest firmware, both machines refuse to see them in the network, sometimes they recognise them briefly untile the next restart/startup.


I can ping both stations, when I type \\NASNAME in the search bar, they open up and show in the list on the left hand side under "Network", but never in the main window with the other machines.


I have tried all the tricks I read, eg. re-activating SMB1 et al, but it just is not possible to keep displaying the NAS stations permanently/


Many Win10 users have complained this started happening to them from a certain version of Win10 don't remember which one.

So, please, please, can something be done about this or can someone give me a PERMANENT fix to stop this problem from occurring?

Hi - Just so you know, I'm marking this "problem solved". I found this online How to Solve the Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings Error. Doing the last step under #2 is what solved the problem. McAvee is still scanning incoming. McAvee & Malwarebytes still show no problems with a full scan. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I have the same issue and nothing helps me either. Did everything I could find online, to no avail. I don't have issues connecting to the Internet but my MagicJack can no longer connect.

When I use Network Troubleshooter all it says is "Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found"

Under Problems it just says "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" About as useless a message as anyone could expect and no suggestions on what else to do.

Given that I have tried everything under he sun I guess I am stuck with this?

• Click on Start.
• Click on Settings.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Change your network settings, click on Network troubleshooter.
