    Open new chrome tab from Terminal

    If I were to type start Facebook – Anmelden oder Registrieren a new chrome tab will open and point to Facebook but

    When I type in start chrome://newtab into cmd I get the following error message

    "You'll need a new app to open this chrome link."

    It then prompts me to Look for an app in the Microsoft store. There are no apps in the store that support the link and it does not let me choose from a list of programs. I was wondering if there is any way that a new chrome tab can be opened on windows from terminal.

    TLDR:

    start "URL" opens new tab pointed to URL in Chrome

    start "chrome://newtab" asks for an app to open chrome link

    I want start "chrome://newtab" to open a new tab in active chrome window

    QUESTION/suggestion:
    * Why not remember the last active tab?
    For example, if you are on tab 2 and close the program, then run it again, for the program to open tab 2 again. But if the -tab X command-line option is used, then the program goes to X tab, regardless of last active tab.

    Does that make sense?

    Google accidentally invents new way to close Chrome browsers

    Ha, another thing my old ass Opera 12.17.1863 can do that chrome cant.

    For those calming Chrome to be better, point to a proper mouse gesture and tab selecting mechanism like opera (hold RMB and scroll and you scroll through a list of your open tabs, with a preview)
