Windows 10: Please stop deleting people's thumbnail cache already

I'm writing about an ongoing thumbnail cache problem that keeps clearing itself every some period of time. This problem has been going on for years since Windows 8, and there is no permanent solution at all.



I know how Microsoft recommends deleting thumbnail cache to help speeding up the computer, but that applies ages ago when hard disks are just a few GBs. This is the age of SSDs. Windows can load thumbnails from cache instantly no matter how many hundreds of thousands of thumbnails there are. But Windows won't keep them and prefers reading the entire image files from the disk again and again. I work with images larger than 10MBs on HDD and I understand people's pain of having to wait for windows to read 1000+ of large images files after every startup. If thumbnail cache really slow Windows down, we can just clear it ourselves. Or at least make it a Windows option.


From what I read from these topics and the rest of the internet, I can stop thumbnail cache from deleting itself by changing the registry key, or deleting maintenance tasks on Task Scheduler, or deny permission to use Disk Cleaner. But after another Windows update, Windows starts deleting again. There is no permanent solution.

I'm sure people are tired of moderator's responses for this issue. It's not corrupted thumbnail cache. It's not because of antivirus. It's not because of 3rd party cleanup tool. The problem is Windows itself. Running SFC or DISM or chkdsk commands won't work because Windows doesn't detect this as a problem. And I'm 100% sure re-installing Windows won't help either.


And I don't think Feedback Hub will help. This problem has been going on for years I'm sure enough feedback is submitted already, especially after Falls Creator Update.


As far as I see how moderators work here, almost all the time I saw canned responses from moderators, and they seems to ignore topics more than 2 pages long, so I suppose that's how users can't do anything with this problem. I am starting a new topic today for the moderators to read again, because I have to tell them: please contact the developers to fix this problem for real already! I beg of you! If you are already addressing this problem, how long is it going to take? When is the update?
