Windows 10: Please stop prompting for Windows 11 download.

Windows 11 is garbage. Why can't they just take no for an answer? If enough people comment, maybe they'll fix it. Maybe Microsoft will listen to their users, for the first time in a decade. Stop prompting me for a Windows 11 upgrade- I don't want it. Please develop Windows 12, and make it less like Windows 11 and more like 7.OneDrive is garbage. Why does my desktop need OneDrive to exist? Give me my C drive back. This is where we petition. Comment here with your thoughts.

Installation media boots to command prompt

I've just booted from known working install media to see exactly what it does when booting. The sequence of events is...

1. Windows logo on a black screen
2. circling dots appear beneath the logo
3. light blue 'Please wait' screen with circling dots
4. a command prompt window (very briefly)
5. the initial Setup page appears

Do you see steps 1-3? If so, it appears you have stopped at step 4, suggesting that something on the disc cannot be read.

Does the disc boot properly in another machine? If so, try cleaning the laptop's drive lens then try booting from the disc again.

If not, make new install media with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, either as a bootable USB, on an ISO that you can burn to another disc. At Step 8 in Option One of this tutorial you can choose between making a USB or an ISO.

How to stop windows 8.1 upgrade prompt

Because at the time I made my first post I didn't know this article existed. Your post made me interested in figuring out exactly how hard it really was to disable the prompt. This article was the first google link I clicked on...

Actually it tells you how to do it via group policy as well. Also, I wouldn't put modifying one key in the registry above the user expertise of the common user on this forum. But if that is too hard there are plenty of google results that walk the user through it step by step or just provide the registry file for you so it is a simple double click and your done. My point was that Microsoft isn't exactly making the information to get rid of the prompt a secret, if they were as evil as you say, they would have made it impossible to disable.

I've got my facts right. Maybe you should check your facts before getting snarky with me again.
