Plextor PX-B940SA shows up in Bios but not showing up in Win 10

    Hi all,

I've had this issue for sometime, and have read nearly a dozen or so articles and message board posts from otherswith their sexy-Plexies and other make burners who have the same issue. Although many claim to have solved the problem, none of their fixes worked with my Plextor.

It was maddening: Bios saw the drive, but windows would not.

So last night, I reasoned it out: I needed to force win 10 to look harder to find the drive.

My solution: I changed the Boot order from Windows the hard drive being the first the system tried to boot with, to the Plextor, being the second.

I simply made the Plextor the first, and moved Windows the hard drive to second. I saved the changes in Bios, and exited and rebooted.

    WHALA- Windows found the Plextor!!!

The Plextor would not boot, and so the system moved to the next device... the hard drive, and the boot was successful. But in doing this, I forced Windows to work harder.

Try this: you can see the logic. I'd wager it'll solve this issue nearly every time, unless the burner is totally dead, that is. Me, I'm just happy to have my Blue-Ray burner back.

    Plextor Announces PlexEraser PX-OE100E

Plextor PX-B940SA shows up in Bios but not showing up in Win 10 2730_large_PlexEraser_open_bg_thm.jpg

Plextor today announced its new PlexEraser PX-OE100E CD/DVD destroyer. The new PlexEraser drive delivers a secure environmentally friendly method of destroying CD/DVD discs to security-conscious companies and individuals. The standalone unit operates without the need of a PC and is an alternative to disc shredders that are currently available. The Plextor PlexEraser PX-OE100E destroys CD/DVD discs by using a laser beam that kills off data recording portions of optical discs. Eight types of CD/DVD’s are supported with the PlexEraser PX-OE100E drive including CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, and DVD+R DL discs. Smaller 8cm discs are also supported by the PlexEraser PX-OE100E as well. As far as timing goes, Plextor claims the average data destroying time is around three minutes for single-layer CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs while dual-layer discs take a little longer at around six minutes. The PlexEraser PX-OE100E is expected to ship to distributors next month with an M.S.R.P. of $249.99 USD. It will be available in North and South America and have a one year warranty with unlimited toll-free technical support.

Back-up, store and share files across a home or office network
Securely managing files and confidential data, the 2-Bay PX-NAS2 gives users full peace of mind, whilst delivering flexibility and convenience by making their information accessible across a home or small office network. No more arguments over which movie is played or where – now the whole family can stream and enjoy access to files on their own computers throughout the home.

Plug and play with PX-NAS2 Utility for fast and easy connectivity
The bundled PX-NAS2 Utility automatically detects any PX-NAS2 devices connected to the home network with minimal configuration – allowing fast and easy connection to begin file sharing and back-up in minutes - even for the novice home computer user.

Cross-platform compatibility for a wide choice of usage options:
The PX-NAS2 is compatible with both PC and Mac – making it a highly versatile cross-platform option, and the ideal solution for homes and offices where both system types are present. Users can even upload photos and videos to the most popular websites, such as Flickr or YouTube.

Furthermore, the device is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) 1.5 compliant – ensuring optimum connectivity to other home devices such as media players, XBox or PlayStation3 – so whilst Dad is editing a work file, Mum could be enjoying a movie on the living room media player whilst their Son is testing the latest game demo on his games console upstairs – all streamed simultaneously from the PX-NAS2.
