    Hello,

I plugged in my dell dock from work into my home laptop's USB-C port to try and see if I could use multiple screens. As in the title "the usb device is not recognized" pops up every 10 seconds.

So far, I have done the following:

    1. Uninstall all the USB drivers in device manager and restart

    2. Reset the PC while keeping my files

The only thing that works is disabling the "USB root hub 3.0" in the device manager. Please note that if I uninstall this driver then restart the same things happens. When I plug in another device to the USB-C port it also goes away.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Display Dock as "USB Hub"

    Hello guys

I've a Microsoft Display Dock but no need to use it with my Lumia 950 - BUT: I'm searching for an USB Type C or Thunderbolt 3 Dock anyway. So hey, I could use my Microsoft Display Dock for that!

But when I plug it in, I get the message "Try improving the USB connection / DisplayPort connection might not work. Try using a different cable"

    Some Facts in advance:

    • Laptop is a Dell Precision 5510 with USB Type C / Thunderbolt 3
    • Windows 10 Enterprise is installed
    • I use the original cables
    • USB Ports of the Display Dock work fine
    • DisplayPort and HDMI do not work (as the error message says)

Any idea how to get it to work? Is it possible to "daisy chain" the dock?

    Thanks a lot,

    Manuel

USB ports not working on CalDigit ThunderBolt 3 Mini-Dock with HDMI

    Good day all,

I have two Windows 10 laptops, a mid-2019 Razer Blade 15" base model, and a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" running Boot Camp. I am having issues with the USB ports on a CalDigit ThunderBolt 3 mini-dock with dual HDMI on both computers. When I have the mini-dock plugged
into the TB3 port and I plug in a USB device into the mini-dock, the USB device does not show up. However, if I disconnect the mini-dock from the MBP, insert the USB device into the mini-dock, then connect the mini-dock to the MBP, then the USB device shows
up. As long as I keep at least one USB device plugged into the mini-dock, I can insert and remove USB devices and they operate as expected. However, as soon as I remove all USB devices from the mini-dock, it stops recognizing any USB devices again. I have
tried the mini-dock with keyboards, mice, and flash drives all with the same results. I have discovered that when I plug the MiniDock in and then a USB key, although the USB key does not appear, if I go into the Windows Device Manager and click on “Scan for
hardware changes” the USB key mounts and opens up as it should. It seems like the automatic detection of hardware changes does not work for USB devices plugged into the TB3 MiniDock. I have confirmed that all the latest updates in both Windows 10 and macOS
Catalina have been installed along with the latest video card drivers in both. Has anybody else experienced this? Any suggestions how I might resolve the issue? CalDigit says that they have not seen this issue and that it is a driver issue of some sort in
Boot Camp and/or my Windows install.

Kensington Launches the SD4700P Universal USB-C and USB 3.0 Docking Station

Kensington understands that no business wants to be tied to USB 3.0 technology as it is being replaced by faster and better protocols, while at the same time recognizing that it isn't practical for an organization to incur the expense and loss of productivity to replace every legacy device with one that supports USB-C. So we are pleased to announce the release of the SD4700P Universal USB-C and USB 3.0 Docking Station (K38240, SRP $219.99), which gives organizations full support for both USB-C and USB 3.0 devices from laptops using both Windows and macOS.

"At Kensington, we value the trust that consumers and organizations have placed in us since we introduced the first Universal Docking Station. As technologies improve, we are committed to providing our customers with new solutions that leverage the latest enhancements to boost productivity and performance," says Fred Wu, Global Product Manager Kensington. "The Universal USB-C and USB 3.0 Docking Station is a great example of that because it protects an organization's investment in existing technology by supporting USB 3.0, while offering complete access to the latest USB-C technology."
