Windows 10: PNG Files look blurry in Preview Pane in Windows 11

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 11, I'm unable to clearly view .png files in the preview pane of File Explorer. All other image types are clearly visible in the preview pane, it's just .png files that are affected. When I open the files, they're fine. But it's really inconvenient that I'm unable to view them in preview mode anymore. I've googled this problem, and I can't find anyone else who is struggling with my exact issue. Any solutions?

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.

Thank you so much for your reply.

What I really need to know is how get the video to play in the preview pane. Prior to Windows 10, this worked wonderfully and was an asset. Now, it requires making changes to the Windows registry - not recommended due to the enormous amount of issues with
Windows 10.

Any other suggestions?

 

Preview pane not functional / causing system issues

We can see here that you're having an issue with using the preview pane for File Explorer. Since using the preview pane affects the CPU usage when trying to view Office files, we could suggest that you changed your File Explorer View setting into the Navigation
pane by performing the following steps:

• Open File Explorer.
• Click on the View tab.
• Select Preview pane to remove it from being highlighted.

Once done, try to open files using Office apps and check if this helps your Surface Pro 4 works fine.
