Windows 10: PnP Detected Fatal Error after Uninstalling or Updating Unknown Device Driver

Hello, Good Day!


I was recently trying to update my Dell Latitude E7450 to Windows 10 1909, from 1809. It always showed error when the update is almost finished, notably the blue screen showing PnP Detected Fatal Error. I have tried all sorts of fixes, including similar issues presented here in the Microsoft Community.


Then one time, I searched in the device manager for problematic drivers and stuff, then I saw this Unknown Device under Other Devices with an exclamation mark and yellow sign. I tried to update it, and it went quite smooth. Not until then Windows attempted to install the driver and caused this blue screen with the same error again. So I dared not to meddle with that Unknown Device again. Then another day I became quite frustrated about fixing the error and accidentally uninstalled the said device.


This caused repetitive blue screens of the same error every time I boot up Windows, either before or after the login screen shows up. I tried to find similar problems like mine but unfortunately I didn't find any.


I know this is most likely my fault, but I would like to ask help since I have very important files in the hard drive that I haven't backed up yet. I tried to create restore points but they always get deleted. Thank you in advance. Please help.

I get the following error when shutting down

" stop code : pnp Detected Fatal error"

After upgrading to windows 10, the computer is always giving me a blue screen with sad face and says that its a pnp detected fatal error . Then the computer restarts automatically . I searched a lot for answers but it was worthless ! Please help ...

Hi,

have you performed these steps before, if not, then kindly go for these, they may be helpful.

1. Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 10 from it.

2. In the 'Windows setup' page, select the 'language to install', 'Time and currency format' and the 'keyboard or input method' and click on 'next'.

3. Click on 'Repair your computer' and select 'Troubleshoot'.

4. Click on 'Advanced options' and select 'Automatic Repair' and choosing the startup setup->then choosing the option that disables driver check.

5. You might also require to change the boot priority in BIOS in order to allow the computer to boot from CD/DVD.
