Windows 10: Poor battery life after Windows update

So I recently bought a new laptop, an ASUS zephyrus G15. The battery life was great, around 7 hours (without gaming). This changed suddenly after a Windows update. Now I barely have 2 hours of charge with all battery saving options enabled. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this issue? I already looked into possibly running background apps but couldn't find anything. Its worth mentioning that there was also a BIOS update very close to when the trouble began. BTW, I'm currently on version 1909 build 18363.1256. Thanks!

Poor battery life after Windows 10 Anniversary update

I would like to point out that while this is marked as an answer. It is not the solution for most devices with the problem of poor battery life.

The poor battery life (less than 4 hours compared with about 8 hours for a normal notebook) is mainly due to poor configuration of the update and many of the internal process run by windows 10 drain up battery even the computer is idle.

For JibranGillani's problem, the computer last less than one hours even when idle is clearly a problem and may really be related to the issue suggested by

Marc Cai. However, it is disappointing to see that Microsoft pick the easy one to solve instead of providing the solution to mass users even though the thread "Poor battery life after Windows 10 Anniversary update" has been there for more than two months.

It is hopeless to see that Microsoft has no response to the problem and restore to status before update seems to be the only option for ordinary users. It is more disappointing for the fact that the problem also impacts Microsoft own devices, surface, and
the battery life simply way off the claim on battery life found in marketing of the surface line products.
