Poor gaming performance, with a higher-end computer?

So today I got my RAM sticks in the mail and installed my additional 16GB of RAM in the remaining 2 out of 4 slots, creating a total of 32GB of RAM. 16GB of RAM is not nearly close enough to what I need to run a video game. It may be overkill 10 years ago, but today, 16GB of RAM is just garbage. 32GB seems to be the optimal amount of RAM for today's games.

I haven't had a single problem since, therefore I conclude my problem of poor gaming performance as SOLVED. Like I and another said, I'm lacking hardware resources, more specifically RAM to not compensate my SLI-Graphic Cards, in which I need my games to be cached in my RAM if I'm using a higher level detailed settings.

Thank you for everyone who helped!

I have a 980ti I run games maxed out at 1440p (most games ha ha) and 16gb of ram is plenty even games like tomb raider that cache 6gb of vram.only uses 8 gb of system ram your issue lies elsewhere same for sli you do not need 32gb of ram even if your running at 4k there must be something else utilising your memory if that's the case 16gb is enough for gaming at the moment sli or not . But as for g force experience I found it used to waste cpu cycles but the y fixed that so now I keep it for shadow play

There are only a few dx 12 games out so far so your not stacking your vram it's still 2gb *Smile also I don't think it's going to work as well as everyone seems to think it will

Poor gaming performance, with a higher-end computer?

24 hours later, I still haven't had 1 single issue since I added 16GB of RAM. Both games running very smoothly at NVIDIA's optimal settings. And I'm not running 4k, I'm only 1080p. And the only things using a heavy amount of memory usage was the game client and system and compressed memory at 3GB - 4GB of RAM.

Two things have helped me when I had a problem similiar to yours.

    1) Uninstall all the nvidia apps. Reboot. download & re-install. (sometimes required after a major windows upto also)
    2) Go into the game and reset the video resettings to reasonable settings. NVidia optimizations can be to aggressive (I had this problem with Skyrim)

    Good luck
