Windows 10: Poor Microphone Quality on New PC

Hello I have the Shure SM7B Mic, Cloudlifter, and Rode AI-1 all connected to my PC. On my old laptop this sounded great however on my newly put together PC the audio randomly gets louder and cuts out. I made sure the new computer has the Rode AI-1 set to 44.1 khz in the PC's audio settings and in OBS the sound is also set to 44.1. It's not a filter issue because the issue persists in Audacity as well.I don't think the problem is anything external because I unplugged the USB from the computer to the laptop without moving anything else. I don't have another mic on hand to test to see if it's jus

Poor microphone quality

My laptop automatically performed a system update on June 4, 2020. Ever since, my microphone quality, as reported by others, is very poor. This issue occurs for both the integrated microphone in my laptop as well as for the microphone in an external headset.
I am using Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, version 10.0.19041

A related issue may be a Windows 10 task, "Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation" which consumes 10% of a 4 core 2.5 GHz processor whenever I join a Google Meet.

I have used the "Audacity" program to record audio from the internal integrated microphone and then from the external headset and both have a significant low frequency hum. This makes me suspect a hardware failure.

I am quite frustrated because this new laptop has the creation of system restore points disabled and consequently I am not able to revert to the previous OS that was known to work.

1. Is there list of official Microsoft Windows 10 Pro releases?

2. Can I direct my laptop to download and install a known good release just prior to June 4th?

3. Does anyone have ideas on how I could further isolate the problem to determine if it is a hardware or a software issue?

 

Poor quality of internal microphone Realtek(R) Audio

In using Skype and Zoom, it is complained that quality is poor with low level sound and static noise in the background . If I use my Microsoft Life Chat LX3000 there is no complaint. I have checked both microphones on Sound settings and on the internal,
it barely shows whereas it is well up the scale on the LX3000.

Your suggestions please.

Poor audio quality from USB microphone on Acer laptop

Hello,

I am experiencing very poor audio quality from my USB microphone on my new Acer laptop. The mic sounds great on my work PC, but terrible on the Acer. I've tried uninstalling the Acer PureVoice software, but it made no difference. Can anyone help?
