Windows 10: Pop-up blocker not getting invisible pop-ups

Hello!I have "Ad-block" and "Pop-up blocker" installed on my Chrome, but some websites I go to, when clicking the OK or the play button, as soon as I click it, an invisible ad/window pops open displaying an ad.Sometimes I have to click 2-3 times before actually getting the play button, which only solves half the problem because if I don't do anything else, the invisible ad layer appears and if I have to hit pause for some reason, 2 more ad windows will pop up before I'm able to pause, and then gotta go thru that again to hit resume.Anybody know how to get rid of these invisible ad layers?

Pop-up blocker helps user to prevent pop-ups from displaying in a user's Web browser.

Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Internet Explorer:

• Open Internet Explorer.
• Open the gear icon at the upper right of the Internet Explorer.
• Select Internet Options.
• Under Privacy tab, put a check mark on Turn on Pop-up Blocker.
• Click OK.

Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Microsoft Edge:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Open More (icon with three dots) and select Settings.
  
• Click View advanced settings.
• Turn Block pop-ups to On.

Pop up blocker not working

I did what you suggested but no luck - I still get the annoying pop ups. Its nothing to do with the security settings, the blocker does not work I cannot get into it to check the blocked list etc. Maybe IE should investigate.

If you want to enable Pop-up Blocker for Edge, follow the steps below.



Step 1: Open Edge browser.

Step 4: Click on View Advanced settings.

Step 5: Drag the slider to Pop-up Blocker on.
