Windows 10: pop up message claiming to be MS Defender

I got a popup claiming to be MS Defender reporting that it found something. It was a pulsating visual message with a blue background giving me a support telephone number to call. I ran a full scan myself and found nothing. The message disappeared after I did that. Should I take this seriously or is this a hoax.?Karen

I can not stop Defender pop up error messages

MS Defender Won't Load After Upgrade to Windows 10 Ver 1511

Attempted every step in document provided by Microsoft

Nothing worked, HOWEVER, the last step is to Delete Conflicting Registry Entries. My registry contains one of the entries listed (MsMpEng.exe) however, REGEDIT could not delete this entry as I was directed.

Problem still exists; as soon as I start MS Defender, it stops.

Any further suggestions?

 

Pop up blocked message in Microsoft Edge

• When do you get the message?
• Does it happens with any specific website?

To enable and disable the popup blocker, follow these steps:

• Click the "..." button in the upper right-hand corner to access the Microsoft Edge menu.
• Select Settings.
• Click on View Advanced settings.
• Block up Pop ups. From here you can turn off or on the pop up blocker.
