Windows 10: POP-UP MESSAGES/ADS/NUISANCE FROM MCAFEE

I have recently emailed Microsoft regarding pop-up messages (thinking that it is Microsoft's problem and not mine that the above subject is still happening each and every time that I go onto my computer). The ads were small but are now blocking at least a quarter of my screen, bright red and large (6" x 4" in size). McAfee are saying that my subscription needs to be renewed (when I have never subscribed) as my supplier deals with security issues as part of my package). I have emailed McAfee to explain and been ignored by them. Parts of the messages are, I think, threatening and prevent me from working so much so that I have to turn off the computer and re-boot. Then after re-booting McAfee still send the messages, sometimes small, sometimes large.
