Unable to scroll a long message in WhatsApp while typing

Ok, I just updated whatsapp but it's still the same, unable to scroll the message.
I'm not sure how to "clear the cache", I don't think it would help either.
My mom has never been able to scroll in a long message that she's typing.
It's just that you CAN scroll a message on android and it just does not work on a windows phone somehow.

This fix doesn't work. My drivers are up to date and the computer is still useless.

I know nothing about computers but it's pretty obvious to me that there's some sort of conflict with iCloud photos. I can tell this because I usually manage about 15 seconds of normal operation before I receive a pop up message saying there was a problem
syncing iCloud photos. The computer then becomes useless - flashing on and off. I disabled iCloud on startup and all was good for a week. Now it's started happening again, with the same iCloud message and with iCloud still disabled on startup.

p.s. it has taken me ages to type this, working as best I can between flashes.

I am furious with Microsoft.
