Windows 10: Pop up reminders

How can I get reminders in a calendar program to pop up over other open programs? I use Efficient Reminders in Windows 10. I made it work in my old computer 5 years ago but have forgotten how.

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

• Just to clarify, what do you mean by "reminders"?
• Are you referring to email notifications ?
• Are you referring to the alarm for an event for Windows Live Mail?
• Please enumerate the steps you do when you are setting up the reminder or event.

Have you tried to enable the option to send reminders via web calendar? If not yet, please follow these steps and check if it helps.

1. Sign in here
http://calendar.live.com/.

2. Click Options located on the upper right of the page.

3. Under Turn notifications on or off tick the button beside
Get notifications (reminders, changes to calendars, and daily summaries).

Furthermore, please set the date of reminders of your calendar by following these steps:

1. Sign in here
http://calendar.live.com/.

2. Select any of your calendar on the left pane.

3. Under Notifications click Add a reminder then follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If a reminder is already configured you can just edit the time of notification.

MS Works 9.0 calendar reminder pop up not working.


While Works on the whole is fine I'm having problems with the he reminder function, even though the reminder exe is listed in the correct places it doesn't produce a pop up at the time of the reminder, I've set it to 15 mins & 30 mins before to test it & nothing.
Opening up works calendar doesn't pop up the reminder either but manually opening the reminder does work.
When I first install it works fine until I restart the laptop then it stops working.
Anything I can look for or do to fix this?
