  1. Port 80 is in use by some system process. Can't access localhost.

I installed xampp on my system and the port that needs to be used for Apache is 80, but port 80 is in use by some system process named "ntoskrnl" and the description for it is "NT Kernel & System". This process was most probably not running a year ago because I had been using wamp at the time which also needs port 80 and localhost was working just fine. I need port 80 for xampp so I can use localhost. Should I kill the process using the command line or is there any alternative http port that I could use?

    :)

  2. System process blocks Port 80

You clearly don't understand the problem here. But I was able to solve it by doing the following:

    • Activate IIS
    • In Services disable the IIS service
    • Reboot
    • Port 80 is no longer blocked by the System process

  3. "System" process with PID 4 use port 80

I use Windows 10 and Apache which run on port 80. But after the Windows update on 10 May 2017, there was a process called "System" ( NT Kernel & System ) PID 4 used port 80, So I can not use Apache on port 80.

I know this system process but what can I do to close this process or let this process leave port 80 ?

ps. I do not use IIS or other services that use this port.

  4. Port 80 is in use by some system process. Can't access localhost.

    System process blocks Port 80

First of all: I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 Pro.

After upgrading Windows 10 to the Creators update the System process (PID 4) always blocks Port 80. If I enable IIS it works perfectly fine, once I disable it Port 80 is blocked again. When accessing Port 80 via HTTP the reply is
a 404 error, the Server Header says Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0.

I have already tried (all) possible solutions that can be found via Google:

    - Disabling WWW Publishing Service

    - Disabling SQL Server Reporting Services (I don't have a service like this running on my PC)

    - Running "net stop http" via Admin CMD

This issue is super annoying and just makes me want to delete Windows.
