USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

Cannot change port used by Scanner

I have a Brother Multi function printer that was installed by USB until we got a Network port installed that it could be plugged into. I have no problem changing the printer properties to the correct port but when I go to scan properties it still has the
USB port and it will not allow me to change anything. Where do I need to go to change the port assigned to the Scanner. I tired looking in the Device Manager but I do not see a separate listing for the scanner.
