Windows 10: Possibility of Customizing File Explorer and System Tray

Hey good people,

Hope you’re all social distancing or social networking

1. I need advice on the following with regards to file explorer:

Is it possible to change what the folder the file explorer opens to when clicked? (i.e. instead of opening to “This PC” or “Quick Access” - opening to a personal/custom folder)

Or is there software which allows you to tweak this?

1. With regards to the system tray:

I have an icon which is for audio control (which I never use), I want to remove it from the system tray completely but every time I try it only moves between the system tray or the hidden system tray.

And then if there’s an application/software that I want to be added specifically in the hidden system tray is it possible to add an icon for it?

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Different date formats for File Explorer and System Tray

Hello,

I recently updated the system tray's date format by adjusting the short date. But now I noticed that when I open
File Explorer, the date format for Date Modified and Date Created is the same as the one I created for the System tray. I don't want it to be the same date format as I'm using in the System Tray. I would like for File Explorer to use a different
date format for Date Modified and Date Created properties. My questions are:

1. Is there a way to have different date formats for the System Tray and File Explorer?
2. On the system tray I show the day of the week (long and not just the first 3 letters). Always on Wednesdays, the date will not show and the system tray will only show the time. Why is this? How can I fix this?

No dice. It's my entire system tray that's missing, not just the icons in it.

One possible reason why the system tray icons are missing is that the system icons settings are currently off. For us to resolve this issue, we suggest that you change the settings of your computer. Here's a simple guide on how to turn on your system icons:

• Right-click on an empty space in your desktop taskbar and select Properties.
• In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, find the selection labeled
  Notification Area and click on Customize.
• Click on Turn system icons on or off.
• If you'd like to always show all icons, turn the slider window to On.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.
