    adobe dimension suddenly stopped working on my computer.adobe support told me to open another user on the computer and test on that. it worked on the new user...any idea what the problem could be and if yes how to solve it??

    Those SID & folder path results are strange. I think you've checked the same things I would. If you want to have me look through the results I will. If you do then please post:-
    1 Results of wmic useraccount list full
    2 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    2.1 List of the S-1-5-21-* SIDs
    2.2 ProfileImagePath entry for each of the SIDs - so I can see what the user folder paths ought to be
    3 Results of Dir C:\Users - so I can see what the user folder paths are
    4 Results of net user - so I can see all the account names together in a concise list

    If you'd prefer then I'd quite understand if you just wanted to restore your last system image so you can try again from scratch.
    - If you do that I would suggest then creating [if you don't have one already] an additional local Admin password-protected user account just to make sure that you have something pristine that cannot possibly be corrupt.
    - Personally, I'd then work through recording all the user account data above before trying any further steps so there was a baseline to refer to later on.

    I know nothing about Lightroom. Might uninstalling then reinstalling it be an option? Even if you had to set Lightroom up again at least all your other user account settings would be undisturbed.
    - You'd probably lose all its current settings, file caches etc but you could prepare by working through its settings / preferences / options and taking screenshots of each page of them so you'd have a decent check list to guide you in its setting up afterwards.
    - You might also need to uninstall then delete all Lightroom's AppData Local & Roaming folders before reinstalling in case one of them is causing the problem.

    I'd also understand if you didn't bother doing anything before your holiday. I'm subscribed to this thread anyway so I'll simply get a notification whenever it is that you post.

    If, as I think you are saying, that Start menu error appeared when you were logged in to the original [bad] account then it means that Lightroom is not its only problem. I think that bodes ill.
