    Possible partition removal, or movement?

I cloned a 750Gb HDD to a 1Tb SSD. Macrium Reflect simply copied the partitions over as-is. It left 260Gb unallocated. There are 2 partitions that I'm thinking are left-over and can be deleted.

The idea being that once those partitions are gone, there will be contiguous space available to extend the C: partition. If those other two partitions are needed, could I simply shrink the larger partition and fit them after it?

    :)

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
