  1. Possible virus on my PC

About 30 minutes ago, I was on a site related to the Sims 3, and hadn't clicked on anything, when like 10 pop-ups opened up out of nowhere. I closed everything out, and then this Google Update notification came up, only the Google Chrome symbol that usually shows when it wants me to update was not there, and instead it showed a symbol of a disk in front of what looks like a box pictured below. I closed out of it, and ran a virus scan, which produced no results. However, when I click on Google Chrome, it keeps showing me the Google Update notification with the unknown symbol, and I noticed that when I close out of it, Google Chrome opens up anyway and I get the same weird-looking notification asking me to update, Can anyone tell me what to do? Thank you so much.Possible virus on my PC [IMG]

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    steps taken for infected Pc's.

I was hoping someone could give me a list of step by step instructions you use as a guide to clean virus, malware...etc. so I can keep my PC clean if it gets infected.

    thx

    possible virus?

Today I keep getting a pop up saying that my pc is infected with a virus. I recently upgraded my pc to windows 10. I ran windows defender and found no virus or malware. Now what steps should i take? I know very little about securing my computer. Thank
    you
