  1. Possible virus

In our office, we suddenly started getting a pop up in the system tray, which uses the key icon (as in for password resets), and message pops up saying, "You are about to log off. Windows will shut down in 620 minutes."

It's an odd time frame. You can X out of it and I had the one person that reported it reboot, but then I was told that many users were getting the same message and just ignoring it.

I'm trying to determine if it's a virus. I'm going to work on machines today, check logs and run scans, but if anyone has any ideas on this, I would appreciate it.

Windows 7 work stations, 64bit, of that helps.

    Thank you.

    :)

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

  4. Possible virus

    knctr virus

    Follow the steps here.

    https://malwaretips.com/blogs/knctr-virus-removal/

If it is not listed in the Control Panel, or it can't be removed there, move on to step 2. You might be able to skip the step with HitmanPro. (30 day free trial if needed)
