Windows 10: *Posted in wrong group* Doing Macrium backups as another user

I bought my computer back in March and only now have gotten around to create a normal user-account, instead of using the original admin account when I first set up windows 10. (EditionWindows 10 Home Version21H1 Installed on‎2021-‎03-‎09 OS build19043.1081 ExperienceWindows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0) I have managed to pretty well get everything up and running in my user-account but realized that I had set up Macrium to back up while in my admin account. Will the scheduled backups still run while in my user-account, or will I have to create a new backup in my user-account? Or is there another secret way to get Macrium to read the backup.xml file while in my user-account? edit: have to add that I use Macrium 7 free edition

Show Local users and Groups


Hello Frank, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you have the Windows 10 Home edition, then it will not have Local Users and Groups (lusrmgr.msc) included in it. It's only available in the Pro and Enterprise editions instead.

If you like, you could use step 3 in OPTION THREE of the tutorial below list users in a group.

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.

 

How to access user files from previous computer's backup

Hello All,
Now that I'm on Windows 10 I found I have the need to access user files from an old backup when this machine was Windows 7. The Macrium backup gives me everything I need with the exception of the ability to view/access my prior user files.
Can someone point me to the necessary steps to do this.
Advance appreciation sent to all who read and/or reply.
