    One of the problems with the present is it has a tendency to become the past very quickly - and the older we get the more quickly time goes... I sound like my grandparents - and my parents - oh, I am a grandparent...Data often has a shelf-life.     MSRT Download link is Broken

    Thanks for the link. I'm still looking for a static link where i can download the latest MSRT package.. It would be bit difficult for layman to go through the whole list and download.. I hope MS will fix those broken links soon.

    How to remove a broken link?

    Hi Samuel,

    There is a possibility that the uninstallation cannot be completed because of software conflicts. To isolate the issue, kindly answer the following questions:

    • What app are you trying to uninstall?
    • How did you uninstall the app?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    In the meantime, we suggest that you boot your computer using Safe Mode then, uninstall the app. You may follow the steps found in this

    Posts to MS Answers out of date - broken links

    Settings links broken


    Looks like some of the links in Windows Settings are broken (I think they only broke after the Anniversary Update). If anyone knows how to fix this it would be most welcome.

    • In Settings>System>About, clicking "Device Manager" at the bottom of the page results in an error:

    • Every link to Device Manager in Settings gives the same error
    • System>Display>Advanced Display Settings>Color Management, Color Calibration, ClearType text, and Display adapter properties give an error
    • Devices>Mouse and Touchpad>Additional mouse options: error again
    • Network & Internet>Change adapter options: error
    • Probably many more links are broken, I didn't bother to check.
    Seriously, WTF Microsoft. And I'm usually the one who never has any problems with Windows, so this must be serious.

There does not seem to be mechanism for swapping "new" for "old", and the only devices you can add are tablets etc not PCs....
