  1. Potential ransomware access to the FileHistory storage

Hi there,I use FileHistory for backups, and it's a great tool that I really like. I've set it up for everyone here, and we are quite happy with it.However, I can't stop thinking about how FileHistory stores the credentials used to access the network share where the backups are located. I have a Windows Server that shares a few folders, one of which is dedicated to FileHistory backups.FileHistory relies on the Windows Credential Manager to remember the credentials required to access the share whenever it needs to run a backup. As far as I understand, any software or user that tries to access a f

    Oh.

I see that a Community Moderator converted your thread from a Discussion to a Question.

    Do you have a question?

It is not quite clear (to me at least) why you've created this thread....

In case that you do indeed have a problem with ransomware:

It would be helpful if you would describe your problem more precisely, see:

Potential ransomware access to the FileHistory storage

    can't access older FileHistory

I can't access FileHistory on an older, filled external drive.

How do I access the edb, xml, and data files since if I start FileHistory on that drive

it starts a new FileHistory also telling me the drive is full.

Is there a program that let's me access my older FileHistory?

It is Windows 10 I believe.

    Thanks,

    Larry
