Windows 10: Power and Sleep Function in Windows 10 is no longer working properly

Recently, I realized that my Windows 10 desktop is no longer shutting the monitor off or powering down to sleep mode. I've been scanning the internet and it seems that this is not a new Windows 10 issue and it might be due to a recent Windows update. I have followed instructions for some various solutions Reset Power and Sleep settings to default settings, check power management of some applications and make sure that they are not set to wake up the computer from sleep, ....


Nothing that I try has worked and I'm very frustrated and quite pissed off about this.


Does anybody have any other suggestions.

Sleep mode no longer function on display power?

Please follow the below methods and check if it works,

Method 1: Power Troubleshoot.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with power. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Power.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Power troubleshooter.

Method 2:

Please let us know whether you are able to see the sleep mode options by referring the following steps

1. In Search bar type Control panel

2. Select Power options

3. In power saver select change power settings and after that
select Change advanced power settings in that check whether you can see the
sleep mode.

My computer does not work with sleep function after latest Windows 10 upgrade.

From your description, I understand your Sleep function on the PC is not working properly after upgrading to Windows 10 operating system.



Before assisting further, i would like to ask you few questions:

• 
  Did you check if the sleep settings are set appropriately?
  
• 
  What happens when you perform Sleep function on the PC?
  

You may be facing the above issue due to change in the power settings from the
Control panel page on the PC.



If you have not fiddled with the power settings, I suggest you to change the
Power options from Control panel settings by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• 
  Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type
  Power Options and select the top most search result.
  
• 
  Select Change when the computer sleeps option from the left side panel of the window.
  
• 
  Set the timing from the drop down bar under
  Turn off the display and Put the computer to sleep options on the window.
  
• 
  Click on Save changes.
  
• 
  Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Windows 10 Sleep Mode no longer working

I upgraded to Windows 10 with no issues. After about a week, sleep mode stopped working. It works fine if I force it into sleep mode by selecting Power...Sleep. But, it will no longer go into sleep on it's own once the specified time interval has elapsed.
I tried a couple of suggestions offered on this subject:

Under advanced settings.....Multimedia.... I set "Sharing Media" to "Allow to sleep".

Under sleep I enabled "Hybrid Sleep".

Neither of the above had any affect. Are there any other suggestions? Perhaps there is a way of determining which function is causing the laptop to NOT enter sleep mode?
