Windows 10: Power calibvration error while burning CD-R disks. DOn't have IMAPI service on my pc.

I'm trying to burn verbatim cd-r disks on windows 10 laptop, but everytume it gives me power calibration error. I tried to fix it by following instructions on the internet, but one thing that worked for most people is disabling IMAPI sservice, and it's the only thing that somehow is not installed on my computer? I don't know what to do.

DVD Drive doesn't read all DVD/CD's -- why?

I checked the IMAPI service and it's on manual as it should be. In the services log it says (when using the windows burner)
- The IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service service was successfully sent a start control.
- The IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service service entered the running state.
- The IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service service entered the stopped state.

Obviously it stops because I stop it. It keeps asking me to put a cd-r in the drive when there is already one empty cd-r, and I have to press cancel.

I think if I get Nero it'd be working as well.

my opinion would be that something is casuing a problem with the XP impapi service, stopping it from seeing blank disks.

One idea: you dont have alcohol 120% do you? it has an anti-security option to 'hide CD-R media' or the like, to prevent games from seeing that disks were burned and not printed. Its a possible culprit for this situation.

(Deamon tools and other apps that have anti-security measures may have options like this, try disabling them all one by one)

 

Files waiting to be burned on disk error

As you want to remove the notification for "Files waiting to be burned", I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open This PC.
• Navigate to the location: C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Temporary Burn Folder
• Delete the files preset in the above location and check for status.

Note: This will delete the files which have been selected to burn on CD/DVD.
