Power Failure on computer with no keyboard/mouse on Windows 10, How to make "Recovery"...

We have a computer running windows 10 that starts up and runs a program that displays information. It is just a computer and a monitor. No keyboard and no mouse. It does not write to the local disk. It is not connected to a network. I have even turned off the Virtual disk memory. Nothing should be writing to the local disk but still if the power is lost there is a good chance it will just hang at the Windows 10 Automatic recovery menu. The Windows will just "hang" at the Recovery "It looks like Windows didn't load correctly". How can we make this automatic. No keyboard or mouse intervention

    :)

  2. Keyboard and mouse

    Hi Vicki,

The issue you are experiencing when using your mouse and keyboard may be due to a corrupted software or a hardware failure on the computer. However, we need to perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate the cause of this concern. Before we proceed, may
    we know the following:

    • Have you tried using a different mouse and keyboard? If so, did you encounter the same problem?
    • Did you try using the said mouse and keyboard on a different computer?

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

Windows 10 Pro USB Mouse and Keyboard Failure

    Hello Greg,

Thanks so much for your reply in reference to my question on the USB Mouse and Keyboard problem.

When my mouse and keyboard started failing to be recognized when the Windows 10 Pro

1803 upgrade was completed, I found that the Keyboard Caps Lock would not change state

and Mouse DPI Speed selector was no longer Illuminated, mouse had no pointer on screen.

I tried restart and power down and up several times, when windows came up not even

able to login due to keyboard in-op. I tried unplug both Keyboard and Mouse I at a time, when plugged back in got USB Device not recognized failure. I searched the internet with Google on another computer and found many problems listed with same problems,
also reference to KB4074588 Patch. At that point I used my external hard drive backup before upgrade to return to Version 1709, mouse and keyboard both operational.

I appreciate all of your information and suggestions and I will try another upgrade this weekend to check if keyboard and mouse operational or still fail.

What do you know about this listed Microsoft file that I downloaded from their Website?

    windows10.0-kb4074588-x64_baac70613d5503dcd3e652ac24b7f432f3579eef.msu It is

over 703,000 KB. Will this upgrade my system to 1803 without having to wait for the upgrade of windows update on line? Maybe got some bad data during the upgrade on line.

Again thank you so much for your assistance.

    Charles
