    Powerline Adapters for 2 Computers


    I own a pair of powerline adapters by ZyXel model PLA4201v2. They are an old model, so they are not manufactured or sold anymore. My sister needs to have another powerline adapter in her room to get ethernet to her laptop, as the wireless signal is not very strong in her room. Is it possible to buy 3 powerline adapters, one connected to the router, one in my room and one in my sister's room? Or do I have to buy 4 powerline adapters and just make use of the 3? Or even just buy 1 and connect it to my existing pair. Thanks.

    TrendNet Powerline Adapter

    My understanding is that Windows 10 Home see LAN connections through powerline adapters (using building AC wiring to move data) as 'public' and therefore not secure. So Windows blocks data transfer. So foar as I know there is no work around. I have tried
    Amped AV-500 and TrendNet AV 1200 Powerline adapters with the same result. The Amped units even have their own security, but Windows doesn't recognize it. If anyone has a solution, please post it.

    TrendNet Powerline Adapter

    I am using a TrendNet powerline adapter for my desktop computer, previously everything was fine. I recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10, as soon as I did however it now says that I do not have an internet connection. I have reset router and
    modem, as well as the powerline adapter. Nothing however has worked. I also reverted back to windows 8.1 and boom, I had my internet back. So maybe something went wrong the first time. I again upgraded to windows 10, and again my internet is no longer connected.
    This is very frustrating because I can see that the adapter is function as it should yet for some reason it will not work on windows 10. I have tried turning off firewalls and removing antivirus but nothing seems to be helping. I'm in dire need of some help
    please. I am using the TrendNet TPL-406E
