Windows 10: Powershell/CMD Exit Code 3221225794

We have an file transfer automation application where it can run different applications if needed i.e. WinSCP, PSFTP.exe Putty, Winzip, etc. We use a lot Powershell in some of the file transfer processes. We have one new file transfer process that needs to transfer a large number of files one file transfer process for each file. What we're finding is the Powershell step is failing. When we view the application logs the followingowershell.exeProcess created, PID 11200. Proc count = 101. Single Mode Proc count = 012/31/23 22:18:30 Application 'Powershell.exe' complete, ErrorCode: 3

Powershell exits with code 2 (0x00000002)

For a couple of days, the built-in Powershell on my Windows 11 (21H2) hasn't been working at all. Whenever I launch Powershell in any way, normal, as admin, other stuff like Developer PS for VS 2022, it always exits with code 2 immediately and there is nothing I can do about it:





What I have tried:

• repairing with SFC
  
• repairing with DISM
  
• PS 7 (works fine but since PS 5 is the default Powershell, I cannot run stuff like Developer PS Console for Visual Studio)
  

Edit: Powershell ISE works fine

Edit 2: Joining the Insider Preview and installing the new build of Windows 11 has fixed the issue

 

terminals(powershell, cmd prompt) getting close unexpectedly again and again

Hi,

from the last week I am facing the issue of terminal, it automatically gets terminated when i open and run cmds on it.

I was creating project in nodejs stack and running cmds to run my app, I have tried different terminal like cmd prompt, powershell, gitbash from vs code to run my cmds....

nothing worked all are getting terminated with some codes/status...

cmd prmopt exit code: 4294967295
powershell exit code: 2

please help

cmd vs powershell

That includes the command CMD itself, which will run a command prompt within the PowerShell window. Type EXIT to get back to PowerShell when you're done...
